The Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is working on a project to redesign the way Addictions and Mental Health Services are provided. They are currently looking for feedback on the plan they have created, and gathering ideas from the public about what aspects to consider. It is often surprising to members of the public to learn that an individual with an ABI does not automatically qualify to receive Mental Health Services. Despite the fact that the brain is at the root of the matter in both fields, there is still room to grow for health care providers in terms of learning how to best support clients who are facing one – or both – of these challenges.

I would ask that any of you who have had experience yourself, with a loved one, or on a professional level with mental health and/or addictions to complete this survey to share your thoughts.

Thank you.
