Research team conducting a study on peer support for people with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury.

The trial is funded by the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation and it has been approved by the University Health Network Research Ethics Board. 

The Feasibility Trial of the Ontario Brain Injury Peer Support Program or TOPS study is a pilot randomized controlled trial examining the effect of receiving the Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA) Peer Support Program on social participation, mood, health related quality of life and self-efficacy.

The participants will complete a series of questionnaires at baseline, 2 and 4 months. They will receive a $100 honorarium for their participation.

Looking for participants who are:

  • 18 years old or older
  • Individuals with moderate to severe TBI
  • Fluent in English
  • Able to provide informed consent or have an available proxy who is able to provide informed consent
