Connecting Families, an initiative of the Government of Canada.

Eligible families are able to access high speed Internet service packages for $9.99 per month from participating Internet Service Providers. The initiative was designed to connect low-income families to the Internet.

Connecting Families will help bridge the digital divide for low-income Canadian families who may struggle to afford access to home Internet. Participating internet providers, including Rogers, Bell, Cogeco and Shaw will voluntarily offer discounted home Internet service to randomly selected families who currently receive the maximum Canada Child Benefit.

Families who currently receive a maximum Canada Child Benefit will be selected randomly to participate in this initiative. They will be contacted directly by the Government of Canada through a direct mail-out.  Instructions on how to apply for the program will be provided in the letter.

Subject to availability, eligible families will be able to request a computer. Lean more about Computers for Schools is not just for schools!

Due to the high demand, computers are being prioritized for families who currently do not have a home Internet connection.
